چکیده
Hypertension impairs the cerebral vasculature resulting in vascular cognitive impairment [VCI]. The role of obesity and plasma lipids shown as risk factors development VCI adults with hypertension is unclear investigated this study.
Normoglycemic individuals [n=216] aged 40-75 years were enrolled into study between January December 2019. They included Newly Diagnosed Hypertensives [NDHCI, n-69] without Cognitive Impairment [NDH, n-81], age-matched 66 apparently healthy [Controls]. Anthropometric measures [height, weight, waist circumference [WC], Hip [HC], hip rratio [WHR] body mass index [BMI] socio-demographic indices, lifestyle blood pressure obtained using standard methods. Plasma [Total cholesterol [TC], high density lipoprotein [HDL-C], Triglyceride [TG] determined spectrophotometrically, while low [LDL-C] was calculated Friedewald formula. Neuropsychological assessment based on score [CS] done community screening instrument for dementia [CSID]. Data analyzed statistical package social sciences [SPSS] software 17.0 version. Analysis variance [ANOVA] Post Hoc test used comparison variables Chi square to find associations variables. These considered significant at p<0.05.
 indicators [WHR, WC BMI] dyslipidemia [TC, LDL-C triglyceride] levels significantly higher NDHCI [WHR=76.97±0.89, WC=37.67±0.61, BMI=28.09±0.49; TC=206.89±3.91, LDL-C=135.76±3.81, triglyceride=135.38±1.63] NDH [WHR=70.71 ± 0.10] WC=34.74 0.04,BMI= 28.30 0.49 TC=192.83 4.28,LDLC= 120.35 3.22,Triglyceride=127.00 2.69] relative control [WHR=51.99 0.83, WC=32.94 0.22, BMI=23.89 0.30 TC=104.70 7.19,LDLC= 94.80 1.90,Triglyceride=72.77 3.70], p<0.01. Significantly scores found NDHCI[3.48±0.38] compared [18.77±0.50] [28.76±0.16], p<0.001. WHR had inverse relationships [β= -14.627, p= 0.306] -0.031, p=0.005] respectively. Moreover, [β=12.315, p=0.049], HC [β=12.241, p=0.036] [β=496.374, p=0.043] group, a positive relationship DBP.

Cognitive impairment after cerebrovascular stroke: Relationship to vascular risk factors
BACKGROUND Cognitive decline after cerebrovascular stroke has adverse outcome consequences. Since some vascular causes can be prevented and treated, the identification of stroke-related cognitive impairment is a challenge. Patients with cognitive impairment and vascular diseases exhibit higher homocysteine (Hcy) concentrations. Whether Hcy is an independent risk factor for cognitive impairment ...
متن کاملDyslipidemia, obesity and other cardiovascular risk factors in the adult population in Senegal
INTRODUCTION According to the WHO, 50% of deaths worldwide (40.1% in developing countries) are due to chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Of these chronic NCDs, cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death and disability in developed countries. The Framingham study has shown the importance of hypercholesterolemia as a primary risk factor. In Senegal, the epidemiology of dysli...

BACKGROUND/AIM To investigate the impact of vascular burden (assessed by the number of vascular risk factors and diseases) on the cognition of persons with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI). METHODS This study included 145 participants; 68 meeting criteria for amnesic single-domain or multiple-domain MCI and 77 matched controls. Four cognitive domains were assessed: executive function...
متن کاملVascular Cognitive Impairment in Adult Patients with Moyamoya Disease
Moyamoya disease (MMD) in adult patients is commonly accompanied by vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). The mechanism behind is still unclear and has been related to its hemodynamic disturbances. Surgical revascularization seems to be the only efficacious way to maintain the cognitive outcome, while problems such as the selection of operation indications and timing, and the long-term efficacy ...
